As your Delaware County Commissioner, I've made it my mission to prioritize the revitalization of our community's infrastructure. While others may rely on buzzwords and catchphrases, I believe in transparency and action. Allow me to share the tangible work we've accomplished together to enhance the very foundation of our county.
Over the past several years, leveraging funding sources such as TIF dollars, EDIT funding, and Community Crossing Grants from the state of Indiana, we've made significant strides in improving our roadways. Nearly 1,000 miles of roads have been paved, with additional efforts in chipping and sealing some of these roads to ensure longevity and durability. When I assumed office, our unincorporated areas suffered from some of the most deteriorated roads in comparison to neighboring counties. Under my leadership, we've transformed our infrastructure landscape.Â
Moreover, we've targeted housing editions, utilizing TIF funding to pave roads within designated TIF districts which has offset the money we have through the Wheel Tax. By allocating resources, we've effectively maximized the impact of the Wheel Tax, allowing us to channel funds into various county infrastructure projects.
Rebuilding bridges, a crucial aspect of infrastructure, necessitates substantial funding. Yet, through financing solutions including TIF dollars, federal grants, and Community Crossing grants, we've successfully completed vital bridge reconstruction projects, enhancing safety and connectivity across our county.
As I seek reelection, I pledge to continue this trajectory of growth and development. Beyond infrastructure, I am dedicated to revitalizing our manufacturing base, and fostering economic prosperity for all residents of Delaware County.
